Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reviews Southern Command operational readiness and technology absorption

PUNE, May 31, 2026 :- Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Headquarters of the Southern Command to conduct a comprehensive review of its operational preparedness, ongoing capability development, and recent modernization initiatives.

During the high-level visit, the army chief was briefed extensively on the command’s strategic efforts toward enhancing multi-domain operations capability, accelerating technology absorption, and maintaining integrated combat readiness across the full spectrum of military operations.

Following the operational briefings, the army chief commended all ranks of the Southern Command for their professional excellence and dedicated service.

He exhorted the personnel to remain mission-focused, operationally agile, and steadfast in their pursuit of excellence to effectively counter emerging security challenges and maintain optimal defense readiness.
