BSNL Rolls Out Nationwide Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) Services: Enhanced Connectivity for All Circles Launched on New Year 2026

New Delhi January 01, 2026:- In a significant New Year gift to its subscribers, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has officially launched its Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) service, commonly known as Wi-Fi Calling, across all telecom circles nationwide.

This advanced IMS-based technology allows BSNL users to make and receive high-quality voice calls and messages over any stable Wi-Fi network instead of relying solely on cellular towers. The service is designed to solve connectivity issues in “dark zones” such as basements, high-rise buildings, and remote rural areas where mobile signals are typically weak or unavailable.

A key feature of BSNL’s VoWiFi is its seamless handover capability, which allows a call to transition between Wi-Fi and the mobile network without dropping. The service utilizes the customer’s existing mobile number and integrated phone dialer, eliminating the need for any third-party applications.

This rollout is particularly transformative for rural connectivity, as it leverages BSNL Bharat Fiber and other broadband services to extend communication reach. Offered at no additional cost, the service also helps reduce congestion on traditional cellular bands.
