Rajnath Singh Says Operation Sindoor Proves India Mastery of Modern Technological Warfare

PRAYAGRAJ, May 4 — Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh highlighted India’s rapid adaptation to the changing nature of global conflict during the inauguration of the three-day North Tech Symposium today.

Addressing a gathering of defense personnel, industry leaders, and innovators, he described Operation Sindoor as irrefutable evidence that the nation possesses the confidence to deploy cutting-edge indigenous technologies on the battlefield. He emphasized that the successful use of advanced systems like Akashteer and BrahMos during the operation demonstrates that India is no longer just observing global military trends but is actively leading through self-reliance.

The Raksha Mantri underscored that in an era of intense technological revolution, the element of surprise and sustained research are the most critical components of military success. Drawing parallels from recent international conflicts, he noted how traditional warfare has shifted toward the use of drones, sensors, and even everyday electronics turned into weapons. He asserted that the nation which adapts most swiftly to these technological shifts will hold a decisive edge.

To support this transition, the government has placed defense research at the forefront, with DRDO already transferring over 2,200 technologies to domestic industries and waiving significant fees to bolster production partners.

Highlighting the economic impact of these initiatives, Singh announced that domestic defense production reached a record high of 1.54 lakh crore in the 2025-26 financial year. Furthermore, defense exports have touched an unprecedented 38,424 crore, a figure he expects to rise as international interest in Indian defense partnerships grows.

He urged the private sector and academia to focus on emerging domains such as Hypersonic Weapons, Quantum Technology, and Artificial Intelligence to ensure the country remains future-ready.The symposium, themed ‘Raksha Triveni Sangam,’ serves as a collaborative platform for the Indian Army’s Northern and Central Commands to interface with 284 exhibiting companies and startups.

Military leadership at the event emphasized that developing indigenous solutions for Unmanned Aerial Systems and AI-enabled decision tools is now indispensable for battlefield dominance.

By fostering this ecosystem of innovation and jointness, the government aims to establish India as a formidable global military power while ensuring the safety and sovereignty of the nation through technological superiority.
