Punjab government launches CM Meri Rasoi Yojana to combat malnutrition
SANGRUR, May 9, 2026 — The Punjab government has launched the CM Meri Rasoi Yojana in Sangrur to support the welfare of 40 lakh families across the state.
Under this new initiative, ration kits will be distributed four times a year to protect children from malnutrition and ensure food security for vulnerable households. This scheme is part of a broader effort to improve the quality of life for all sections of society through targeted social welfare programs.
In addition to the nutrition initiative, the administration highlighted ongoing efforts to provide free electricity and health coverage under the CM Sehat Yojana. Other measures include the Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana and the provision of uninterrupted daytime electricity and canal water for farmers.
The government also marked a historic milestone in Satauj village by beginning a project to move electrical wires underground, aiming to make Punjab a pole-free state.
Addressing legal and social issues, the government emphasized its commitment to protecting religious sanctity by introducing strict laws against sacrilege that include life imprisonment and heavy fines. These steps are described as part of a continuous journey toward creating a prosperous state.
By focusing on both infrastructure and social welfare, the administration seeks to simplify the lives of citizens while maintaining law and order.
