Health Minister Sakeena Itoo reviews voluntary blood donation drive at Srinagar Airport

SRINAGAR, June 15: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education Sakeena Itoo inspected a voluntary blood donation camp organized at Sheikh-ul-Alam International Airport.

The healthcare drive was conducted by the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura in collaboration with Airport Authority Limited and the Central Industrial Security Force.

The minister praised the joint efforts of the medical institute and local stakeholders for promoting voluntary blood donation and raising awareness about its life-saving value. She also commended airport employees, security personnel, and volunteers who stepped forward to support the cause.

While interacting with the donors and organizers, Sakeena Itoo emphasized the vital role regular blood donations play in strengthening the healthcare infrastructure and ensuring a steady supply of safe blood for patients.

She described blood donation as a selfless act of social responsibility that saves countless lives. The minister recognized the ongoing initiatives of the medical institute to foster institutional partnerships and popularize donation drives across Jammu and Kashmir. She thanked the security staff, airport management, and volunteers for their cooperation, while urging citizens, especially the youth, to join future donation campaigns to build a healthier society.
