DIG South Kashmir Reviews Amarnath Yatra 2026 Security Preparations at Pahalgam

Pahalgam, June 10: As preparations gather pace for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo, chaired a high-level review meeting in Pahalgam to assess security arrangements and strengthen coordination among various agencies involved in the annual pilgrimage. The meeting brought together senior officials from the Police, CRPF, Rashtriya Rifles, CAPFs, and other allied departments, including the SSP Anantnag and key field officers responsible for Yatra management.

During the meeting, officials conducted a detailed review of deployment strategies, traffic regulation plans, emergency response systems, communication networks, and overall security measures along the pilgrimage route. DIG Matoo stressed the importance of seamless coordination between all agencies to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the Yatra. He directed officers to remain vigilant, enhance area domination measures, and maintain readiness to respond swiftly to any emerging situation. Participants briefed the meeting on preparations within their respective jurisdictions and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the successful conduct of the pilgrimage. Expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far, the DIG urged all stakeholders to continue working in close coordination to provide devotees with a secure, well-managed, and hassle-free Yatra experience. The meeting concluded with a collective pledge by security and civil agencies to ensure the successful and peaceful conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
