Assam Rifles and police seize foreign pistol and arrest one in Mizoram

CHAMPHAI, June 10, 2026 — Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with the Champhai Police, apprehended an individual involved in illegal arms dealing in the general area of Zote within the Champhai District of Mizoram.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the joint security team intercepted the suspect and successfully recovered a 0.32 mm foreign-made Beretta pistol, one magazine, and three live rounds of ammunition from their possession.

Following the successful recovery, the apprehended individual and the seized weaponry were promptly handed over to the local Champhai Police for further legal processing and deeper investigation.
