Jammu 10th August :- Lord Shani Dev ji is one of the most popular deities revered by Hindus. Lord Shani is the sanctified form of the planet Saturn which is one of the nine heavenly objects called as Navagrahas said to be born to Surya Dev (Sun God) and Goddess Chhaya (Goddess Shade).
The Repilca (Shila) of Shingnapur Temple, Shri Shani Dev was installed in Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on 10th of Aug.2018. The Sathapna Divas of Shri Shani Dev (Shila) was celebrated with grand rituals and religious ceremonies coinciding with the Sathapna Divas on 10th of Aug. 2025.
The programme started at 07.30 A.M by conducting Ganesh and Navgreh Puja and Hawan followed by Puja of Trishul and Elephants, Abhishek and Shingar of all these Idols was conducted by Arti and Puran Ahuti by eminent Pandits and Shastris.
Later at 1`O Clock a huge Bhandara was organized for General Public, where large number of people participated till late in the evening.
Head Pujari Pt. Ashwani Kumar Shastri briefed the gathering by highlighting the ways of Shani Pooja. He narrated that the malefic gaze of Lord Shani is said to be of grief, dullness, laziness, failure, poverty, delays and other adversaries.
The whole programme was conducted under the guidance of Th.Gulchain Singh Charak,(Former Minister) and President of Management Trust and sponsored by Devinder Khawle of Pune.
