Punjab DGP Reviews Security Preparedness in Border Districts Ahead of Independence Day

AMRITSAR, August 10, 2026 — Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav reviewed the security preparedness of Commissionerate Amritsar and the Border Range to ensure robust security arrangements ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

The assessment focused on high-sensitivity border districts, key public gathering spots, urban centers, and vital installations across the region.During the meeting with senior officers, units were instructed to step up vigilance, strengthen patrolling, enhance surveillance, and implement effective crowd management measures to enable swift and coordinated responses to any security challenge.

Officials emphasized maintaining seamless coordination across the security grid and remaining proactive against emerging risks to safeguard peace and harmony throughout the state.
