Power Shutdown Update: Scheduled Electricity Outages Announced Across Kashmir and Jammu Divisions

SRINAGAR/JAMMU JULY 30— Power distribution authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have announced scheduled electricity shutdowns in several areas across both divisions to facilitate essential maintenance and line works.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), a power shutdown of the 33 kV Shariefabad–Narbal line will be observed on August 3, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This interruption will affect the power supply to Narbal, Kawoosa, Lawaypora, Sozeith, Sanoor, Malpora, Redbugh, Railway Station Mazhama, and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, in the Jammu region, the Chief Engineer (Distribution), Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) informed that power to Shakti Nagar (near Pawan Icecream), Canal, and adjoining localities will remain affected on July 31 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Additionally, the Superintending Engineer (Distribution), JPDCL O&M Circle Kathua, stated that electricity supply to Old Vijaypur, Vijaypur Industry, and nearby areas will experience power cuts on July 31 and August 1 between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Consumers in the affected regions have been advised to plan accordingly.
