Beerwah delegation meets Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to discuss NH 701A alignment and town development
SRINAGAR, June 29 — A delegation from the Beerwah constituency, led by Member of the Legislative Assembly Shafi Ahmed Wani, met with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today to discuss the proposed alignment of National Highway 701A.
During the meeting, the delegation strongly urged that NH-701A should pass through the main market of Beerwah instead of bypassing it, emphasizing that keeping the highway within the town center is crucial for local economic growth, the livelihood of traders, and public convenience.
The delegation requested the Chief Minister to take up the matter with higher authorities to ensure the alignment accommodates the needs of the main market.Apart from the highway alignment issue, various developmental matters concerning the Beerwah constituency were discussed, including the urban development of Beerwah and Magam towns.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the visiting representatives and assured them that the genuine concerns of the local public would be examined and addressed on priority. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his time, close attention, and positive response toward resolving the key issues affecting the people of the Beerwah constituency.
