SOG Jammu and NSG conduct joint mock drill at Raghunath Temple for Shri Amarnath Yatra security

JAMMU, June 29, 2026:- The Special Operations Group Jammu and the National Security Guard conducted a joint counter-terror mock drill at the Raghunath Temple as part of comprehensive security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra.

The exercise simulated a high-risk terrorist contingency involving rapid response, area domination, intervention tactics, hostage rescue, casualty evacuation, and inter-agency coordination.

The primary objective of the operation was to validate Standard Operating Procedures, enhance operational synergy, and ensure a swift, coordinated response to any potential security contingency.

This drill forms part of a series of joint preparedness exercises scheduled to be conducted at vital installations and other vulnerable locations across Jammu. These exercises aim to assess operational readiness, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and reinforce the security framework at locations that require a high level of preparedness against potential threats.

The simulated exercise witnessed seamless coordination between SOG Jammu, the NSG, and other security stakeholders, reflecting professionalism, interoperability, and operational readiness.

Jammu Police remains fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims, residents, and visitors, and will continue to conduct such realistic mock drills regularly to maintain a robust security posture during the Amarnath Yatra and beyond.
