DRDO conducts successful flight test of indigenously developed Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile

NEW DELHI, June 15, 2026 :- The Defence Research and Development Organisation conducted a successful flight test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile today from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. According to data captured by various tracking instruments deployed by the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, all the primary test objectives were fully met during the launch.

The cruise missile is an indigenously developed system, with all components and sub-systems developed by various domestic laboratories and domestic industry partners under the nodal guidance of the Aeronautical Development Establishment in Bengaluru.The successful launch was witnessed by senior officials from the defense research agency alongside user representatives from the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the research team and the associated industry partners on achieving the successful flight test. Defense Secretary and Chairman of the organization Rajesh Kumar Singh, who monitored the launch activities, also extended his congratulations to all the team members involved in the successful technological milestone.
