Food Safety Department Shopian Intensifies Hygiene Enforcement Drive at Heerpora
SHOPIAN, JUNE 08: In a decisive move to uphold public health and strict dietary standards, the Food Safety Department Shopian, in collaboration with local police, executed a comprehensive regulatory inspection drive across the Heerpora area today.
The joint enforcement team meticulously scrutinized various Food Business Operators (FBOs) to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act and Regulations. Throughout the operation, inspectors evaluated critical parameters including food handling methodologies, storage protocols, and overall sanitation levels.
Upon detecting notable hygiene deficiencies, the department recommended formal action against five non-compliant FBOs under Section 69 of the Food Safety and Standards Act. Alongside these legal measures, the team issued strict ultimatums to the erring establishments to immediately improve cleanliness, while reinforcing the department’s commitment to ongoing district-wide monitoring and urging vigilant citizens to report any instances of food adulteration.
