Srinagar Police Freeze Properties Worth 3.5 Crore Rupees in Major Anti Narcotics Crackdown

SRINAGAR, June 6, 2026 — In a major move to dismantle the financial network of drug traffickers, Srinagar Police formally attached immovable assets valued at approximately 3.5 crore rupees belonging to two local drug peddlers.

The enforcement action was executed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, which aims to eliminate the drug menace by targeting properties built using the proceeds of illegal narcotics smuggling.

The first asset seizure was carried out by the Nigeen Police Station, freezing a double-storeyed residential house and accompanying land valued at 1.30 crore rupees at Habbak Crossing in Hazratbal, belonging to Rahil Manzoor Malla.

Simultaneously, the Soura Police Station attached a residential property worth an estimated 2.20 crore rupees in the Upper Soura area belonging to Adil Rashid Gudoo, who faces separate charges for his involvement in regional drug networks.

Police investigations confirmed that both residential properties were acquired through funds derived directly from illicit drug trafficking operations. The official freezing orders legally bar the accused individuals from selling, transferring, leasing, or altering the status of the assets during the legal process.

Local authorities emphasized that freezing illegal assets remains a priority to disrupt the narcotics ecosystem, and they continue to seek public cooperation to identify individuals involved in illegal substance distribution.
