UDHAMPUR, APRIL 25, 2026: -The District Administration Udhampur, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, successfully executed a Civil Defence air raid mock drill today to bolster public safety and emergency preparedness.
The primary exercise took place at Shanti Niketan High School, drawing participation from over 200 individuals including local citizens and representatives from various departments such as Revenue, Police, Health, NDRF, and SDRF.
The initiative was designed to educate the community on effective response protocols during blackout scenarios and other sudden crises, ensuring that both officials and the public are synchronized in their actions during a real-time emergency.
The drill featured a simulated emergency environment that tested the coordination between civil defence volunteers and emergency service agencies.
Participants engaged in hands-on training involving evacuation procedures, fire safety measures, and basic rescue operations, along with detailed first-aid demonstrations.
By equipping residents with these practical survival strategies and immediate response techniques, the administration aims to build a more resilient community capable of managing unforeseen challenges.
Officials noted that such exercises are vital for maintaining a state of high vigilance and ensuring that all stakeholders can perform their roles with precision and speed during actual disasters.
