Amritsar Police Bust Cross Border Drug and Arms Smuggling Ring with Three Arrests

AMRITSAR, Apr 23 — The Amritsar Commissionerate Police has successfully dismantled a major cross-border drug and arms smuggling module, resulting in the apprehension of three suspects.

During the operation, law enforcement recovered 915 grams of ICE (Methamphetamine) alongside five pistols and a cache of live cartridges.

This breakthrough marks a significant blow to organized crime networks operating within the region and highlights the ongoing efforts to secure the border areas from illegal trafficking.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the police reveal that the accused were in active contact with smugglers based in Pakistan.

The individuals reportedly served as local handlers, facilitating the distribution of narcotics and illegal weapons throughout the state. By acting as a critical link in the supply chain, the module posed a serious threat to public safety and regional security.

Authorities are currently interrogating the suspects to uncover the full extent of their operations and identify further collaborators.

An FIR has been officially registered at the Gate Hakima Police Station in Amritsar as the legal process moves forward. Investigators are now focused on tracing both forward and backward linkages to identify the source of the contraband and the intended recipients.

This comprehensive approach aims to entirely dismantle the network and prevent future smuggling attempts. The Punjab Police remains dedicated to its zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs and illegal firearms to ensure a crime-free environment for the citizens.
