House Committee Conducts Field Inspection of Jal Jeevan Mission Projects in Rajouri and Poonch

RAJOURI, April 16, 2026A thirteen-member House Committee formed to oversee the Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu and Kashmir began an extensive field inspection of water supply schemes in the Rajouri district today.

Led by Chairman Hasnain Masoodi and accompanied by several legislators including M. Y. Tarigami and representatives from various constituencies, the delegation visited multiple project sites such as Sasalkote, Agrati, and Gambhir Mughlan.

The primary objective of these visits is to evaluate the physical progress and technical quality of the infrastructure being developed to provide clean drinking water to rural households.

Senior administrative officials, including the Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission and the Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri, joined the team to provide technical data and facilitate a thorough assessment of the ongoing works.

Throughout the inspection, the committee engaged with local delegations from remote areas who shared their concerns regarding delays in the commissioning of specific water schemes and challenges in project implementation.

The committee members took note of these grievances to ensure that the mission maintains high standards of transparency and accountability.

These on-ground observations are intended to help the House Committee formulate strategic recommendations for the government to accelerate the delivery of safe water services.

By directly monitoring the execution of these projects, the committee aims to ensure that the developmental goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission are met effectively for the benefit of the local population.
