J&K Govt Sacks Two Employees Over Alleged Terror Links; LG Manoj Sinha Orders Termination

SRINAGAR, April 8, 2026 — In a major crackdown on anti-national activities within the administration, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the immediate termination of two government employees for their alleged involvement with proscribed terror outfits.

The decision follows a high-level investigation into activities deemed prejudicial to the security and interests of the State.

The terminated officials have been identified as Farhat Ali Khanday, a Class IV employee in the Education Department, and Mohammad Shafi Dar, a Class IV staffer serving in the Rural Development Department.

According to official sources, intelligence inputs revealed that Khanday was actively working for Hizbul Mujahideen, while Dar was allegedly operating as a terror associate for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

These dismissals were executed under constitutional provisions that allow the government to terminate employees without a formal inquiry if their actions pose a significant threat to national security.
