Indian Army Commences Specialized Counter-Terrorism Training for J&K Police at Tiger Division
JAMMU | April 07, 2026 :- The Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police have further solidified their operational bond with the commencement of a comprehensive Counter Insurgency/Counter Terrorism (CI/CT) Refresher Course at the Tiger Division today.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Anand Jain, IPS, ADGP Armed J&K, and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Tiger Division, alongside high-ranking officials from both the military and police force.
This high-level initiative, scheduled to run from April 07 to April 18, 2026, represents a strategic effort to synchronize procedures and bolster security responses within the region’s increasingly complex tactical landscape.Operating out of the Miran Sahib Brigade, the program will provide intensive training to108 police personnel, focusing on a modern spectrum of warfare and defense.
Participants are set to undergo rigorous drills in counter-terrorist efficacy, with a specific emphasis on utilizing new-generation equipment and mastering drone and counter-drone measures.
A central pillar of the curriculum is the development of junior leadership, empowering lower-level commanders to lead small-team operations with greater autonomy and precision in high-stakes environments.
The necessity for such integrated training stems from a successful history of joint operations in sectors like Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, and Rajouri, where the fusion of Army and Police efforts has been vital for success.
By fostering seamless coordination and mutual trust, the refresher course aims to standardize tactical maneuvers and enhance interoperability.
Senior leadership emphasized that these joint drills are the bedrock of a disciplined, well-prepared security apparatus, reflecting a steadfast commitment to ensuring long-term peace and stability across Jammu & Kashmir.
