Kupwara 19th August :- During a routine patrol and naka checking near the Radio Station in Batergam, a police team from Kupwara Police Station intercepted a suspicious Hyundai i10 Sports (JK15A-6188) moving towards Kupwara.
The driver attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended by alert officers. Upon verification, the driver was identified as Afaq Mohiuddin Bhat , son of Gh. Mohiuddin Bhat, while the female passenger revealed herself as Muneeba Begum, wife of Mehrajudin Bhat, both residents of Aloosa Bandipora. During the search, police recovered a heroin-like substance from Muneeba’s possession.
An FIR (No. 261/2025) under relevant narcotics laws has been registered at Kupwara Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
