Udhampur Earth Day Rally: DC Minga Sherpa Advocates for Sustainable Living and Renewable Energy
UDHAMPUR, APRIL 25, 2026 — To commemorate World Earth Day, the Bharat Scouts and Guides Udhampur organized a high-impact awareness rally today under the global theme “Our Power, Our Planet.” The event was officially flagged off by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Minga Sherpa from the DC Office Complex, drawing participation from a significant number of students and faculty members representing various local educational institutions. The procession traversed the heart of the city—passing through Slathia Chowk, Court Road, Ramnagar Chowk, Gole Market, and the Bus Stand—before culminating in a grand assembly at the Mini Stadium.
During his address to the participants, DC Minga Sherpa underscored the critical urgency of natural resource conservation and called upon the youth to lead the charge by adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily routines. Emphasizing that individual actions are the foundation of a healthier environment, he urged the community to transition toward renewable energy resources and prioritize energy efficiency.
