Punjab Launches Digital Saanjh Citizen Portal and Deploys Electric Scooters for Women Police Personnel
PHILLAUR, June 10, 2026 :- The Punjab Police has officially launched the all-new SAANJH Citizen Portal during an event at the 134-year-old Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy in Phillaur. The new digital platform introduces a variety of citizen-centric services designed to make policing more accessible, transparent, efficient, and responsive.
Key features of the portal include identity-verified electronic know-your-customer capabilities, paperless verification systems, and quick-response authenticated certificates to streamline public access to law enforcement resources.
Alongside the digital portal launch, officials flagged off a fleet of 93 electric scooters assigned to women police personnel. These new vehicles are designated for officers managing the Punjab Police Mahila Mitra and various Women Help Desks across the state.
The deployment of the electric fleet aims to increase patrolling mobility and strengthen the overall capacity of law enforcement to deliver responsive security services tailored to women.
The upgrades align with an ongoing effort to deepen community policing throughout Punjab. The department continues to manage regional community programs including Yuva Saanjh, the Student Police Cadet Scheme, Jagriti, Women Help Desks, and Saanjh Rahat Kendras. These initiatives reinforce the department’s foundational guiding principle of ensuring citizen rights while fulfilling law enforcement duties.
