KPDCL and JPDCL announce scheduled power shutdowns across Jammu and Kashmir districts

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, JULY 08: The Chief Engineers of Distribution from the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited and the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited have announced scheduled power shutdowns across multiple districts due to essential maintenance and line upgrades.

In the Kashmir division, the shutdown of the 33 kV Bemina-Fateh Kadal and 33 kV Bemina-Barbarshah lines will affect power supply to K.K. Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, BB Shah, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basant Bagh, Car Parking, Maisuma, and adjacent areas from 8 am to 2 pm on July 9 and July 13.

Similarly, the 33 kV Budgam line shutdown will impact Budgam Town, Sebdan, Jawalpora, SIDCO, Housing Colony, Railway Station, and NIFT from 8 am to 2 pm on July 11, 13, and 16. Power supply to Nambal, Akhura, Nanil Sangam, Wopzan, Bijbehara Town, Halmullah, Marhama, Sirhama, Khelan, and Panjpora will be affected from 8 am to 2 pm on July 9 due to shutdowns on the 33 kV Sarnal Akhura Tap Line and 33 kV Sangam 1st line.

Additionally, the Sallar Tap Line shutdown will affect Sallar, Kullar, and Kathsoo on July 11 and 14, while the Sangam 1st trunk and Sangam II lines will affect Sangam, Wopzan, Bijbehara Town, and surrounding areas on July 13 from 8 am to 2 pm.

In the Jammu division, electricity supply will be temporarily suspended in several sectors on July 9.

Areas including Nai Basti and Gajansoo will face cuts from 6 am to 12 noon, while Chatha Mill, Chatha Pind, Brij Nagar, SKUAST, Chatha Bhour, Lower Gadigarh, Dharap, Indranagar, Sudan Heart Care, and the Airport will be affected from 6 am to 10 am.

Furthermore, the shutdown will impact Chakroi, Pindi, Hansa, Satriyan, Flora, BOP, Tanda, Kirpind, Seed Farm, Paper Mill, Dablehar, Badyal, and Chowalla from 6 am to 11 am, and Udhampur Town, Army, Airforce, Chenani, MES, Dibber, and Battal Ballian from 6 am to 9 am. In Kathua, the industrial area and its adjoining pockets will see supply disruptions on July 12 from 7 am to 1 pm.

Local executive engineers in Udhampur and Chenani have also outlined staggered regional shutdowns. The Nimbla area, Anganwadi area, Irrigation office, BDO office, Petrol Pump Ramnagar, ICICI Bank, Thappa Mohalla, Abrol Ornament area, Dak Bunglow, and PWD office will experience daily outages from July 9 to July 14 between 7 am to 1 pm.

In Chenani, areas near the Food Store and Anthal Chowk will face shutdowns from July 9 to July 11 between 7 am and 2 pm, followed by the Rest House and Government quarters from July 13 to July 17. The Brokley Mission School and Chaskoo Bowli sectors will experience cuts on July 15 and 16, while Anthal Chowk will face another round of outages from July 17 to July 19 between 7 am and 2 pm.
