Indian Army officer saves accident victim with CPR in Uttarakhand
PITHORAGARH, July 9 — An Indian Army officer provided life-saving medical assistance to an unconscious road accident victim on the highway between Banbasa and Pithoragarh. Major General VK Patra, the Major General Medical of the Uttar Bharat Area, was traveling along the route when he noticed the individual lying by the roadside and immediately stopped his vehicle to intervene.
Upon examining the casualty, the senior medical officer found that the individual had no pulse and was not breathing spontaneously. He immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation with the assistance of his buddy personnel. The timely medical intervention successfully revived the individual, restoring both their breathing and blood circulation within a few minutes at the scene.Once the patient was stabilized, an Army ambulance from the Banbasa Military Camp was deployed to the location. The victim was then evacuated and transported to the nearest Primary Health Centre for further advanced medical care. The swift response highlights the emergency preparedness and commitment to public service maintained by military personnel stationed in the region.
