Kolkata Airport Conducts Multi Agency Security Mock Drill to Test Contingency Response Protocols
KOLKATA, June 6, 2026 — A comprehensive multi-agency mock exercise was conducted at Kolkata Airport to test emergency response protocols and strengthen coordinated actions during potential security contingencies.
The simulated drill was designed around a scenario involving a forceful intrusion into the airport’s Ceremonial Lounge, allowing security forces to evaluate their tactical deployment strategies in real-time.
A total of 148 personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force, including its Quick Reaction Team and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, alongside the State Police, Airports Authority of India, and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security participated in the operation.
The drill successfully demonstrated swift response times and seamless coordination among the different security agencies, concluding with a detailed debriefing session led by the Deputy Inspector General and Chief Airport Security Officer.
Through these regular training initiatives and realistic simulations, authorities continue to enhance their capability to protect critical aviation infrastructure and ensure passenger safety.
