Katra police arrest four for drug consumption after testing positive
REASI, June 15: In a continuous effort to eliminate drug abuse under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the Reasi Police apprehended four individuals for drug consumption in Katra town.
A patrolling team from the Katra Police Station spotted the individuals at various locations after their behavior raised suspicion. Although a personal search yielded no illegal substances, they were taken to the Community Health Centre Katra for a medical evaluation.
The medical examination, conducted using a Rapid Multi-Drug Urine Test Kit, confirmed that all four individuals tested positive for narcotic substances. Following the results, the police registered individual cases under Sections 8 and 27 of the NDPS Act at the Katra Police Station.
The Reasi Police reinforced their commitment to fighting drug abuse and urged citizens, especially the youth, to distance themselves from narcotics. Authorities also requested the public to share any information regarding drug peddling or substance abuse with local police to help take strict action against offenders.
