Joint security mock drill conducted at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar for Amarnath Yatra 2026

Jammu, June 23: A joint mock drill was successfully conducted at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu today to assess security preparedness and enhance inter-agency coordination ahead of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2026.

The simulation exercise focused on testing rapid mobilization and reinforcing defensive measures at the key base camp, ensuring all emergency responders are ready for the annual pilgrimage.

The comprehensive drill simulated a complex hostage crisis, requiring immediate and highly coordinated intervention from multiple security wings. The exercise actively involved the Jammu and Kashmir Police Special Operations Group, National Security Guard, Central Reserve Police Force, State Disaster Response Force, District Police, Traffic Police, and the Bomb Disposal Squad.

Participating units focused heavily on threat localization, tactical hostage rescue procedures, command and control execution, and seamless communication across different organizational lines.The drill provided a crucial opportunity for all involved stakeholders to validate emergency response protocols and operational readiness under realistic high-pressure conditions.

Following the completion of the exercise, a detailed debriefing session was held to analyze performance metrics, document best practices, and address areas needing further refinement. The Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterated their commitment to deploying robust, continuous security measures to guarantee a safe and seamless environment for all arriving pilgrims.
