Jammu and Kashmir Weather Update Predicts Rain and High Speed Winds
SRINAGAR, April 30, 2026:- The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a fresh weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir indicating a shift from brief showers to more consistent rainfall over the coming days.
For today, the region can expect partly cloudy skies with brief spells of light rain or thunder at scattered locations during the afternoon and evening hours. A significant change in weather is anticipated between May 3 and May 5, as the department predicts generally cloudy conditions across the territory.
During this period, many places are likely to experience one or two spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Forecasters have also warned of potential thunder and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour at a few locations.
Following this spell, the weather is expected to turn generally dry again from May 6 to May 9, though isolated brief afternoon showers remain a possibility. In response to the predicted rain and wind, a weather advisory has been issued specifically for the agricultural community.
Farmers across Jammu and Kashmir are advised to suspend all farm operations between May 3 and May 5 to avoid potential damage or losses caused by the moderate rainfall and high-speed winds.
The Meteorological Centre continues to monitor the situation to provide timely updates as the weather system evolves.
