Jalandhar Counter Intelligence Uncovers ISI Backed Espionage Ring Monitoring Sensitive Sites
JALANDHAR, April 30, 2026:-Counter Intelligence Jalandhar has achieved a major breakthrough by dismantling an espionage network supported by the ISI, resulting in the arrest of a key operative identified as Sukhwinder Singh, also known as Sukha, from Ferozepur.
During the operation, security officials recovered China-made solar-powered CCTV equipment equipped with 4G connectivity from Kapurthala. This specialized technology was reportedly being utilized to conduct unauthorized surveillance on high-security zones, marking a significant intervention in national security efforts.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused and his associates were strategically installing these solar-powered cameras at various locations to monitor sensitive sites, particularly establishments linked to the Indian Army.
The sophisticated 4G-enabled devices allowed the operatives to transmit live video footage directly to Pakistan-based handlers through mobile applications. This real-time data transfer provided foreign intelligence units with a constant feed of activities near critical military installations, posing a direct threat to regional safety.
A formal First Information Report has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell Police Station in Amritsar.
Authorities are currently conducting a detailed investigation to trace both forward and backward linkages of the module, aiming to identify other members involved in the conspiracy and any additional surveillance points that may have been established.
The Punjab Police reaffirmed their firm commitment to dismantling espionage networks and ensuring continued peace and public safety across the state.
