India and Russia strengthen defense cooperation at 5th working sub-group meeting

NEW DELHI, April 29, 2026:- The 5th India-Russia Working Sub-Group Meeting on After Sales Support, Pricing, and Contracts concluded today in New Delhi after two days of intensive discussions.

The meeting was co-chaired by Joint Secretary Dinesh Kumar and the Deputy Chief of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia, Sergey Yashin.

Both delegations engaged in comprehensive dialogues regarding the streamlining of military supplies and the enhancement of technical support frameworks for the Indian Armed Forces.

The sessions focused on resolving key aspects related to the pricing of spare parts and the efficiency of maintenance contracts to ensure the operational readiness of shared defense platforms.

At the conclusion of the deliberations, both sides signed a formal protocol that outlines the agreed-upon strategies for future cooperation.

This meeting underscores the continuing commitment of both nations to maintain a robust defense partnership and ensures a reliable supply chain for the hardware used by the Indian military.
