Defence Secretary reviews operational preparedness and infrastructure in Eastern Ladakh

LEH, June 8, 2026 :- Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh concluded a three-day visit to the Leh Sector, where he reviewed operational preparedness, border infrastructure, and logistical sustainability.

During the visit, which spanned from June 5 to June 7, 2026, he held comprehensive discussions with senior military commanders at the Headquarters of the 14 Corps to assess the strategic readiness of the region.

As part of his assessment, the Defence Secretary travelled to key forward areas in Eastern Ladakh, including the Base Camp and the Northern Glacier. While visiting these high-altitude locations, he interacted directly with the deployed troops.

He commended the soldiers for their unwavering dedication, courage, and high level of professionalism in safeguarding the national security under some of the most challenging environmental conditions in the world.
