CISF Chief Reviews Central Jail Srinagar Security and Directs Upgrade to AI Surveillance
SRINAGAR, June 9, 2026 — Central Industrial Security Force Director General Praveer Ranjan, accompanied by the Deputy Inspector General for Northern Zone-II Jammu, visited Central Jail Srinagar yesterday to conduct a comprehensive review of the security arrangements and operational preparedness of the deployed personnel.
The high-level assessment focused on evaluating the existing defense protocols within the correctional facility to ensure maximum vigilance.During the site inspection, the Director General underscored the growing significance of robust prison security within the prevailing regional security landscape.
To enhance operational effectiveness, he emphasized the urgent need to adopt technology-driven solutions, including artificial intelligence-enabled CCTV analytics, intelligent surveillance systems, and advanced security equipment.
Additionally, the head of the security force stressed the importance of continuous training, capacity building, proactive intelligence gathering, and systematic technological upgrades to effectively counter emerging security challenges.
