Assam Rifles Launches Skill Development Initiatives for Youth and Women in Manipur

IMPHAL, June 23, 2026 — Assam Rifles, operating under the Spear Corps, has initiated multiple skill development and training programs aimed at fostering self-reliance and empowerment across various districts of Manipur.

In Kakching and Chandel districts, the forces are conducting a comprehensive five-month Agniveer pre-recruitment training program for 43 local candidates to prepare them for upcoming military recruitment rallies.Alongside the youth training program, Assam Rifles recently concluded a three-month weaving and yarning training initiative in Churachandpur district.

The program successfully trained 15 local women, equipping them with sustainable livelihood opportunities to help them achieve financial independence. Local communities expressed their gratitude to the security forces for providing professional guidance, skill development, and consistent motivational support to the region’s youth and women.
