Record eighth batch of over 8150 pilgrims leaves Jammu for Shri Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU, July 9 — A large group of 8,150 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu as part of the eighth batch of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
The devotees, departed under elaborate security arrangements in a coordinated convoy of 334 vehicles bound for the twin base camps located in the Kashmir valley.For the traditional Pahalgam route, a total of 4,705 pilgrims traveled in 166 vehicles, which included 104 buses, 33 medium motor vehicles, and 29 light motor vehicles.
This group of travelers comprised 3,293 males, 1,115 females, 238 sadhus, 57 sadhvis, and two children.
The Baltal route accommodated the remaining portion of the batch, featuring 3,445 pilgrims transported in 168 vehicles, including 71 buses, 22 medium motor vehicles, and 75 light motor vehicles.
This segment consisted of 2,370 males, 845 females, 194 sadhus, 20 sadhvis, three transgenders, and 13 children, bringing the total combined movement for the day to 8,150 pilgrims across both transit corridors.
