District Administration Jammu introduces free Raahi hop bus service for Shri Amarnathji pilgrims

JAMMU, JULY 08: The District Administration Jammu provided a group of Shri Amarnathji pilgrims a free ride on the Raahi: Hop Jammu bus service along its Sarhad Line today, offering them a unique insight into the cultural, historical, agricultural, and patriotic heritage of the border region.

During the launch event, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal interacted with the pilgrims, introduced them to the specialized bus concept, and inquired about their travel experiences in the city. The specialized route was designed to showcase Dogra heritage, rural life, and agricultural achievements across the border belt of the district.

The pilgrims received a warm welcome from Sub-Divisional Magistrate RS Pura Anuradha Thakur and her team at the Octroi Border Post, where the travelers viewed the International Border and interacted with Border Security Force personnel to learn about life in the frontier villages.

The curated itinerary also included a visit to the historic Raghunath Temple for prayers, followed by a tour of the famous RS Pura basmati fields, which are renowned nationwide for producing premium aromatic rice.

The pilgrims expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by the local administration, describing the excursion as a memorable highlight of their spiritual journey to the holy cave shrine. The Raahi: Hop Jammu service is scheduled to begin regular commercial operations on July 11.
