CISF and Indian Maritime University partner to boost maritime security and specialized training
CHENNAI, June 23, 2026 :- The Central Industrial Security Force and the Indian Maritime University signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the university headquarters in Chennai, establishing a five-year framework for long-term collaboration in maritime security and capacity building.
The agreement will facilitate Recognized Security Organization courses for security personnel while promoting deep cooperation in training, research, consultancy, and development initiatives focused on port and maritime security. This partnership aims to strengthen institutional collaboration, advance professional excellence, and enhance domain expertise across the maritime sector.
Marking the formal commencement of this strategic collaboration, the inaugural batch of the specialized security course began training at the university on June 22, 2026. This initial session lays the foundation for advanced, specialized training and mutual knowledge sharing between the organizations.
The joint initiative reflects a shared commitment to safeguarding maritime infrastructure through rigorous professional training, robust capacity building, and sustained institutional cooperation.
