Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh attends Sindhu Darshan Mahakumbh 2026 to promote eco-spiritual tourism

LEH, June 23, 2026 :- The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh attended the Pratham Sindhu Kumbh in Leh, which commemorates the 30th anniversary of the annual Sindhu Darshan festival. The event brought together international ambassadors, high commissioners, spiritual leaders, scholars, and pilgrims from across the globe to experience the rich culture, vibrant traditions, and spiritual heritage of the region.

Highlighting the historical importance of the Sindhu River as the cradle of the Indus Valley Civilization and a lifeline for local ecology, the Lieutenant Governor noted that the festival embodies the vision of national unity and cultural integration.

During the gathering, visitors were urged to support the regional ban on single-use plastics and maintain cleanliness to preserve the pristine environment of Ladakh and the sanctity of the river.

The celebrations featured vibrant cultural performances by artists from Ladakh, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh, showcasing India’s diverse traditions.
