Fire and Fury Corps launches high-altitude drone training and virtual reality lab in Ladakh

LEH, June 15, 2026: The Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army has unveiled a state-of-the-art Integrated Drone Training and Virtual Reality Observation Post Lab at an altitude of 4,500 meters. This newly established facility marks a significant technological advancement toward building future-ready warfighting capabilities in challenging high-altitude terrains.

By blending advanced technology with modern warfare requirements, the center aims to significantly sharpen the operational readiness and capability enhancement of security forces stationed in the strategically vital Ladakh region.

The facility seamlessly integrates advanced drone training nodes with immersive virtual reality simulators designed specifically for Infantry, Indo-Tibetan Border Police mortar fire controllers, and Artillery observation post officers.

Through this collaborative joint training setup, participating personnel can enhance their critical skills in surveillance, target acquisition, fire direction, and precision engagement.

The intensive simulator training module culminates in live firing exercises using an advanced artillery trainer, reinforcing the Indian Army’s commitment to leveraging technological innovation as a major force multiplier for battlefield preparedness.
