SSP Shafket Hussain hands over 50 recovered mobile phones worth over 8 lakh to owners in Poonch
POONCH, June 15, 2026: In a major public service initiative, the Poonch District Police successfully recovered 50 missing and stolen mobile phones worth over 8 lakh rupees and handed them back to their rightful owners during an event organized at the District Police Office. The recovered devices were returned by SSP Shafket Hussain in the presence of senior police officers and the respective beneficiaries.
The recoveries were achieved by the Cyber Police Station Poonch through sustained technical investigations and coordinated efforts following complaints lodged by citizens regarding their lost or stolen mobile devices.Using advanced tracking tools, technical surveillance, and close coordination with various telecom service providers, the specialized cyber team traced and recovered the electronics from different locations. After completing the necessary legal formalities and verification procedures, the mobile phones were restored to their genuine owners, who expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation toward the police department for their prompt and professional response.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Shafket Hussain urged citizens to promptly report any lost or stolen mobile phones through the Central Equipment Identity Register portal and at the nearest police station to facilitate timely action and improve recovery prospects.
