Sakeena Itoo Launches New Medical Diagnostic Units and Reviews Hospital Projects in Pulwama
PULWAMA, May 05 — Sakeena Itoo, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, inaugurated a modern digital X-ray unit and a thyroid analyser today at the Primary Health Centre in Parigam.
Accompanied by Hasnain Masoodi and senior health and education officials, the Minister emphasized that the government is dedicated to upgrading medical infrastructure in rural areas to ensure residents have access to advanced diagnostics without traveling to major cities.
During her visit to the health centre, she interacted with the staff and local community members, reaffirming the commitment to provide affordable and accessible healthcare through the integration of modern technology in peripheral institutions.
Following the inauguration, the Minister inspected the progress of a 50-bedded hospital currently under construction at Kakapora. She instructed the executing agencies to speed up the work while maintaining high quality standards, noting that the facility is vital for improving the region’s healthcare capacity.
Sakeena Itoo also visited Ratnipora to review the site for a proposed 50-bedded integrated AYUSH hospital and yoga training centre. She highlighted the importance of traditional medicine and holistic wellness, stating that these facilities will promote preventive healthcare and wellness tourism in the district.
The Minister concluded her tour by reiterating the government’s resolve to bridge the gap in healthcare services between urban and rural sectors. She assured the public that ongoing projects would be monitored closely to ensure they are completed within the set timelines.
By focusing on both modern and traditional medical practices, the administration aims to create a comprehensive healthcare network that provides quality services close to the homes of citizens across Jammu and Kashmir.
