Amarnath Yatra 2026 Tent and Shop Allotment Draw Held in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, APRIL 17: The district administration of Anantnag conducted a draw of lots today at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal, to ensure the fair and transparent allotment of tents and shops for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026.

Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat, the process targeted various identified locations along the Pahalgam Axis. A specialized committee including the ADC, CEO PDA, and SDM Pahalgam utilized randomization software to carry out the exercise in the presence of ACR, service providers, and numerous applicants.

The allotment followed the strict guidelines established by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for various applicant categories.

These service providers had previously submitted applications to pitch tents and set up shops along the route leading to the Holy Cave.

During the event, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that this initiative is a critical component of pre-Yatra logistical planning, designed to streamline arrangements for the high volume of devotees expected this year.

He called for continued cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure the pilgrimage’s success. Participants expressed their satisfaction with the procedural transparency, noting that the randomization process provided an equal opportunity for all service providers involved in the annual pilgrimage.
