Jammu 21st August :- In a significant update for the residents of Udhampur, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has announced that a technical error omitting “Udhampur” from computerized railway tickets for the newly renamed station will be promptly resolved.
The minister revealed that the correction is being made following the personal intervention of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The station was recently renamed “Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan (MCTM) Railway Station” in honour of Martyr from Udhampur who sacrificed his life fighting terrorists in the 2016 Pampore attack. Dr. Singh stated that this initial decision to rename the station reaffirmed the high priority accorded to the region by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
