Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar lays foundation stone for new CISF headquarters and projects worth 136 crore
NEW DELHI, JUNE 22: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar laid the foundation stone of the new CISF headquarters building at CGO Complex in New Delhi today. The minister also dedicated several infrastructure projects worth 136.03 crore to the nation, marking a significant step forward in the modernization journey of the Central Industrial Security Force.
The ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of Intelligence Bureau Tapan Kumar Deka, senior Central Armed Police Forces officers, officials from CPWD and State Bank of India, former directors general of CISF, and force personnel.
The major infrastructure milestones highlighted during the event included the foundation stone for the new CISF headquarters building valued at 75.78 crore, the Aditya hostel for subordinate officers at NISA Hyderabad costing 34.22 crore, the Abhyas advanced training block at NISA Hyderabad worth 20.53 crore, and another subordinate officers hostel at the 4th Reserve Battalion in Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu valued at 5.50 crore. Along with these infrastructural developments, welfare initiatives were prominent, featuring the distribution of financial assistance totaling 1 crore under the Personal Accident Insurance Scheme to the families of fallen CISF personnel.
Customized motorized wheelchairs were also presented to differently-abled dependent children of the force personnel through a collaborative initiative between CISF Sanrakshika and the State Bank of India.During his address to the gathering, the minister reiterated the commitment of the government to the welfare of Central Armed Police Forces personnel, drawing attention to ongoing welfare measures such as Ayushman CAPF, CAPFIMS, the CAPF e-Awas portal, and Project MANN. CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan spoke about the expanding operational role of the force in specialized fields like cyber security, drone and anti-drone capabilities, maritime security under the ISPS Code, and specialized technology training.
He also noted the approval for the first all-women CISF Reserve Battalion in Nuh, Haryana, as the force continues to strengthen its focus on modernization, innovation, and securing critical national infrastructure ahead of the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.
