Srinagar Police Seizes Drug Peddler Properties Worth Billions Under NDPS Act
SRINAGAR, June 16, 2026 — Srinagar Police has attached immovable properties valued at 1.5 crore rupees belonging to two drug peddlers as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan crackdown. The law enforcement action targeted assets acquired through the proceeds of illicit narcotics trafficking under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
Through the issued attachment orders, the owners are strictly prohibited from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in these seized assets.The first major action was executed by the Batamaloo Police Station, which attached a three-storey residential house valued at 80 lakh rupees located at Nundresh Colony, Muslimabad, Srinagar.
The property belongs to Sikander Firdous, who is involved in a case registered under the NDPS Act and specific sections of the Indian Penal Code. In a separate operation, the Kralkhud Police Station attached a single-storey residential house worth 70 lakh rupees in Mirgund Kanalwan, Bijbehara, Anantnag, belonging to Ghulam Hassan Bhat, who is currently out on bail.
Both attachment orders have been submitted to the competent authority, SAFEMA, in New Delhi for further legal proceedings aimed at dismantling the financial infrastructure of regional drug networks.
