Samba Child Labour Enforcement Drive: Labour Department Conducts Special Crackdown and Awareness Campaign
SAMBA June 12,2026— Marking the International Day Against Child Labour, the Labour Department Samba, in active collaboration with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and supported by the Health and Police departments, executed a comprehensive child labour enforcement and awareness drive across Main Bazaar, Border Road, and Link Road Bazaar.
During the intensive inspections, officials identified two adolescents working in commercial establishments, prompting the immediate issuance of legal notices to the shopkeepers to appear before the competent authority, while simultaneously sensitizing local business owners about statutory responsibilities and strict laws governing adolescent employment. To further educate employers and the public, teams distributed and posted informative pamphlets detailing child and adolescent labour laws at key locations.
Led by prominent officials including Assistant Labour Commissioner Himani Jerath and CWC Chairperson Neemisha Rajput, the authorities emphasized that child labour severely deprives children of their fundamental rights to education, health, and protection, urging the community to remain vigilant and report violations to support the district’s ongoing mission to eliminate child exploitation.
