Ramban Police Registers Multiple Cases Against Landlords for Failing to Verify and Register Tenants
RAMBAN, June 20, 2026 :- As part of its ongoing drive to ensure proper verification of tenants and to strengthen security measures, the Ramban Police has registered separate cases against landlords for failing to furnish particulars of tenants residing in their rented accommodations, in violation of the orders issued by the District Magistrate of Ramban.
At Police Station Gool, acting on reliable information, it was found during verification that Ashiq Hussain Shaan had rented accommodation to a resident of Supaul, Bihar, without informing the authorities. Similarly, Qasim Ali had rented rooms to two other residents of Bihar. During verification, it surfaced that the landlords had neither informed Police Station Gool about the arrival of the tenants nor submitted their particulars for verification as required under the District Magistrate’s notification.
Accordingly, FIR Number 37/2026 under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Police Station Gool and further investigation has been taken up.In a separate action, Police Station Dharamkund received reliable information that Javid Ahmed had rented out his house to tenants and outsiders without submitting their particulars to the concerned police station, thereby violating the orders issued by the District Magistrate of Ramban.
Consequently, FIR Number 12/2026 under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Police Station Dharamkund and an investigation into the matter has been set into motion. The Ramban Police reiterates its appeal to all landlords, property owners, and house owners to ensure mandatory tenant verification and timely submission of tenant details to the nearest police station.
Compliance with these directions is essential for maintaining public safety, security, and effective law enforcement, and strict legal action shall continue against violators found disregarding the prescribed procedures.
