Poonch Police and civil administration hold massive anti drug awareness rally
POONCH, May 9, 2026 — As part of the Nasha Mukt Jammu And Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Police Poonch, in partnership with the civil administration, organized a large-scale awareness rally today to combat drug abuse.
The event began at the Sports Stadium Poonch and traveled toward Kalai before circling back to the start. The rally saw significant participation from various officers and officials, demonstrating a unified administrative front against the growing threat of narcotics in the region.
The march was led by Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Shafket Hussain, alongside other senior representatives from the police and civil sectors.
Throughout the route, participants carried placards and chanted slogans to educate the public on the devastating effects of addiction and the necessity of community involvement.
