LG Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena Launches First Special Land Lease Renewal Camp to Boost Social Security
LEH, APRIL 15, 2026 — In a major step toward ensuring legal and social security for the residents of Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena today inaugurated the first-ever special camp for the on-spot renewal of expired land lease deeds in residential colonies.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor personally handed over renewed lease documents to 79 families, addressing a critical grievance that had been pending for several years.
This initiative is designed to provide residents with definitive legal ownership of their properties, thereby unlocking essential financial opportunities such as access to bank loans and streamlining property transactions, including the seamless transfer of titles to the next generation.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to transparent and responsive governance, the Lieutenant Governor stated that these efforts align with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Ease of Living” and “Housing for All.”
To ensure no resident is left behind, he has directed the local administration to resolve all remaining pending cases by organizing additional special camps for the convenience of applicants.
By digitizing and accelerating the renewal process through these on-spot camps, the government aims to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles and provide long-term stability to the families living in the region’s residential colonies.
