Indian Army Surya Green Himalayan Odyssey Team Receives National Flag in Ladakh

CHUMAR, JUNE 21, 2026: Against the stark grandeur of the Himalayas at Chumar, the National Flag was ceremonially handed over to the team of the Surya Green Himalayan Odyssey. This event marked the culmination of a grueling six-day foot patrol by the indomitable troops of Tangror.

Carrying the sacred colours through some of the world’s most unforgiving terrain, the soldiers marched from the remote outpost of Kibber in Himachal Pradesh, crossed the formidable heights of Takling La, and arrived at Chumar in Ladakh, remaining completely undaunted by the extreme altitude, harsh terrain, and biting winds.

This ceremonial handover represented a seamless relay of purpose and a powerful testament to the spirit of the Indian Army, where courage on the frontlines converges with innovation for the future.

The exchange epitomised the operational synergy of the Surya Command, bridging the grit of the soldier with a vision of sustainable mobility. As the mission continues, the tricolour advances with an unwavering resolve to protect and honor the nation across its most challenging frontiers.
